ABOUT ME
米国ボストン音楽院卒。 その他、インディアナ大学、ハートフォード大学、尚美短期大学（現尚美学園大学）にて、クラリネットを、ジョナサンコーラー、ハワードクルッグ、大橋幸夫に師事。ヤマハ新人演奏会出演、米国国際クラリネット協会主催のヤングアーティストコンペティション第二位（アリゾナ）、ハートスクール校内エマーソン四重奏団コンクールにおいて優勝し、同四重奏団と共演。アジアユースオーケストラメンバーとしてアジア各国で演奏。前上海フィルハーモニー交響楽団副首席奏者、前上海シンフォニエッタ首席奏者。また、シンガポール交響楽団、ボストンフィルハーモニー交響楽団、東京交響楽団等と共演。これまで、アメリカ、中国、日本で、後進の指導にあたる。初心者の小学生には、成長に合わせて基礎と音楽の楽しみを、州立のユースオーケストラオーディションには課題をこなせるように準備サポート、アンサンブルのコーチングには互いに聴き合い音楽表現を十分に引き出せるような指導を心がけてきた。16年帰国。2021年より山口県柳井市で活動再開。地域の音楽を活性化するべく活動中。また、グレースプロジェクトとして岩国にて、ヴァイオリニストのメリー・キングと共に日米音楽交流活動を展開。国際クラリネット協会会員。地域音楽コーディネーター資格。
Performance experience:
Izumi Fujiyama worked as the assistant principal clarinetist of the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra and principal of Shanghai Eastern Sinfonietta. She also played with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, and the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. She was invited to perform at the Concert for Young Artists by YAMAHA (Tokyo), won 2nd prize in the Young Artist Competition by The International Clarinet Association (Arizona), and won the Emerson String Quartet Competition , where she was invited to perform with the Emerson String Quartet She was selected to be a member of the Asian Youth Orchestra and toured various Asian countries.
Education: She graduated from the Boston Conservatory and studied clarinet with Jonathan Cohler. Her education includes degrees from the Hartt School of Music of the Hartford University, Indiana University, and Shobi College, where she studied with Howard Klug and Yukio Ohashi.
Currently performing locally and building a children's music culture exchange in the Iwakuni area with a violinist, Merrie King. Also as a project leader of the Yanai Art management, working local musicians and educators to generate a musically enriched environment.
